A Windows startup-folder shortcut

The older per-user Startup-folder workflow for launching an application after sign-in.

The original Windows note used the per-user Startup folder to launch an application after sign-in:

Win+R => shell:startup
Right click on application and drag+drop to Startup folder (C:\Users\{USER}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup) -> Create shortcut here

The folder contains a shortcut, not a copied installation of the application. The {USER} segment represents the selected user’s profile.

This is a desktop sign-in workflow, not a Windows service or a guarantee that the program starts before a user logs in. The source labeled the note Windows 7; no current Windows setup was tested or changed.
